Union Hotel
Hotel Union was constructed in 1925 and is listed in the National Register of Historical Places. According to the Register, the Royan is the former home of acclaimed author Fritz Lieber who was a Royan tenant from 1969-1977 when he wrote his award-winning fantasy novel Our Lady of Darkness.
The Union offers 59 all-private bathroom units of permanent supportive housing to formerly homeless adults referred to THC through San Francisco’s Adult Coordinated Entry system. Union tenants enjoy shared used of a community space and laundry facilities and receive support from on-site Property Management and Case Management staff.
