San Francisco, CA 94109

Summary of the Property

The Edgeworth Hotel was built in 1914 and is listed in the National Register of Historic Places. THC acquired the Edgeworth Hotel in June 2013, making the building’s 43 units available as permanent, supportive housing opportunities for formerly homeless single adults.

Property Details

The Edgeworth Hotel is one of THC’s four “Step Up” residences. “Step Up” buildings cater to tenants who have demonstrated they are able to live successfully with limited staff and support services. However, there are still Property Management and Support Services staff available on-site to provide a safe and positive environment. To be eligible for housing at the Edgeworth Hotel, residents must have previously lived in a Housing First funded unit.

Tenants at the Edgeworth Hotel have access to the community kitchen, on-site laundry facility, and community room. The community room serves as a space for social gatherings, meetings and events and is often used by THC Support Services staff to host coffee hours, bingo games, and birthday celebrations. Tenants can also reach out to THC Case Managers for assistance with job placement, food resources, medical services and alternative housing needs. Property Management staff ensure that the building remains clean, safe and functional. All teams work collaboratively to create an environment that is safe and supportive, where each tenant feels at home.
