Summary of the Property
The Jefferson Hotel was built in 1906 in the Historic Jazz District of San Francisco. The Jefferson Hotel has seen its share of musicians, artists, and actors and even has a few of its own claims to fame. The hit television show Nash Bridges, award winning film Pursuit of Happiness, and 2019 Netflix adaptation of Armistead Maupin's Tales of the City were all filmed at the Jefferson Hotel. Since THC acquired the Jefferson in 1999, it has been known for the part it plays as an integral resource in San Francisco’s housing program.
The Jefferson Hotel features 108 units of permanent, supportive housing for formerly homeless single adults. Over the years, The Jefferson has received many renovations and improvements including a new floor in the hotel lobby and updates to the building’s surveillance system. There is an on-site laundry facility where tenants have access to free wash pods. The basement features a large community space where THC Case Mangers host coffee hours and movie nights. These activities allow the THC staff to connect with the residents. They also allow residents to connect with each other as well; strengthening The Jefferson’s community and helping tenants feel at home.
