The Galvin Apartments is a 56- unit affordable housing project named in honor of Sister Bernie Galvin, the founder of Religious Witness With Homeless People. A lifelong organizer for social and economic justice, Galvin has worked tirelessly to provide affordable homes for the very poor and this project is a fitting testament to her work. This project houses former SRO tenants, many of whom were formerly homeless. Rents are set at 35% of area median. The Galvin Apartments represents a unique approach to inclusionary housing, and was built and subsidized with no public funds.
