Permanent housing for G.A. participants…
If you are tired of moving from hotel room to shelter to the streets and back again, you should consider enrolling in the Modified Payments Program.
The Modified Payments Program will help you find a permanent place to live in a residential hotel at below-market rents.
How the Program Works:
On the first and fifteenth of each month, your G.A. check will be mailed to the Tenderloin Housing Clinic, 126 Hyde Street, San Francisco. The check will be made out to you, as well as to the Clinic. (This assures the hotel owners that your rent will be paid, and enables the Clinic to negotiate with hotel owners for lower rents.)
Rents on the Program range from $250-$280 a month, and are paid out of your G.A. grant. Twice a month, you will come to the Housing Clinic and receive a check for the balance of your G.A. grant. For example, if you are staying at a hotel that charges $250.00 a month, we will pay the hotel owner $125.00 for the hotel room, and write you a check for $38.00 twice during the month.
How to Enroll in the Program
Drop by the Tenderloin Housing Clinic office, 126 Hyde Street, between Turk and Golden Gate, any weekday between 10:00 a.m. and 12:30 p.m., or between 1:30 and 4:00 p.m.
