A Dedication for the Dedicated: ‘Father of Tenderloin’ Honored
Police officers stand in the street at an Academy of Art University dedication of 13 panel murals in the Tenderloin in San Francisco on Friday. Camlo Looper speaks during the event. His father, Leroy Looper, who died in 2011 – known by locals as “the father of the Tenderloin” – is depicted in one of the murals and was admired for his efforts to help the community’s poor.
